My Great Grandfather and Grandmother are buried directly behind the church. My grandfather Pinkey Mosley Watson , who fought in the Civil war-- Company C, 5 Battalion (Infantry) -surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse-Virginia on April9,1865. Born Aug 2, 1839 and died Dec.4 1920. Wife was Frances Amey (Weaver)-well-Known family in which town of Weaver, Al. was named. Born Nov. 27,1846 and died Feb 19, 1915. Their Headstone is large and pink looking in color. He also has a foot marker showing his service during the Civil War.They were long time members of Mt. Zion Church. Also attending church picnics along a spring close to the church. I am a member of The Daughters of the Confederacy---All can be proved. I also have other members buried at Mt. Zion, that served in Civil War.
