Joseph Stafford Moss, Sr. He exhibits the trait of symphylangism, popularly known as 'stiff fingers', which was the subject of a Johns Hopkins study, conducted by the eminent brain surgeon Dr. Cushing, which traced the characteristic back to the third Earl of Shrewsbury, John Talbot, hero of Agincourt in 1415
