  	He and his wife stood committed the tolbooth of Edinburgh for a month until the fine was paid.   	In 1677 he was imprisoned in the Bass prison for more coventicles and his wife fined a thousand merks.  He was liberated of giving bonds to keep away from conventicles, but in 1679 was aggain accused of this atrocious crime, and refusing to testify against himself was fined another 3,000 merks, and, in 1680, 700 pounds  for "absence from the King's host'" and, later, was once more imprisoned in the Bass.

  	Gary Gianotti sends an email (with no supporting documentation) claiming that George Scot had a youngest son George who did not immigrate to America.  And he had a son George who had a son George who had a son Robert who was appointed 1st Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint.  Other sources say the Robert Scot who was descended from George Scot of Pitlochie, while a portrait engraver, was not the engraver appointed as Chief at the U.S. Mint.

  	New Aberdeen – "The disastrous voyage is familiar to all students of Scotch history.  Scot (Laird of Pitlochie), his wife, her sister-in-law, lady Aithernie and her children died.  Scot's daughter, Eupham, was left an orphan and not only so, but her uncle and aunt, William and Eupham Rigg, also died, leaving their property to their neice." Matawan and Aberdeen – "Scott started out with 125 prisoners, of whom 31 died on the voyage.  In all 60 passengers and crew died during the 15-week Atlantic crossing, including the laird and his wife.  The lard's death did not automatically mean the survivors were free from their bonded servitude. The laird's daughter Euphemia survived and married fellow passenger Dr. John Johnstone."
