Rent Control, Eviction without cause

Lack of rent control, and sky-rocketing housing costs are causing homelessness. Coupled with this is the fact that there is no state law prohibiting eviction without cause. If the tenant is unable to obtain a yearly lease from their landlord the landlord can evict the tenant with as little as 30 days notice for no reason. This primarily impacts the poor as they are forced not only to continually scramble to keep a roof over their head but pay moving costs, deposits, and increasingly higher rents.
